InsFocus BI Version 1.8
We are pleased to announce today the release of InsFocus BI version 1.8. New additions to the version include:
- Batch operations – running a report for a set of organizational members (e.g. running a profitability report for all agents and exporting the results to different PDF files)
- Dynamic filtering – item selection, dimension selection, organizational member selection – all can now be dynamically filtered for easy finding (so when looking for, say, earned premiums, just start typing ‘prem’ and don’t look in the tree anymore).
- Dynamic dimensions – dimensions that have a lot of members (e.g. client, policy) can now be filtered using a dynamic auto-complete filter that brings a list of the first 10 members found.
- Premium collection added to generic insurance model.

Premium Collections model
One of the main advantages of InsFocus BI system is its built-in insurance data model. This model details the structures and processes for creating an insurance data warehouse for an insurance company, dramatically reducing implementation times and improving the data warehouse’s efficiency and accuracy. The data model is both logical – documenting processes, workflows, querying styles, and both physical – containing database structures, ETL scripts, calculations templates, items (KPIs) and sample reports.
We have now added a new domain to our model – Premium Collections. This is a sub-model that enables the tracking of premium collections for the different policy transactions issued. It allows keeping track of a number of payments per transaction, of different due and collection dates and so on.
The model covers all aspects of implementing premium collections in a real company. It begins with a sample input structure, continues on to staging and data warehousing structures, ETL scripts, items defined and report template.
Some of the available report templates include:
- Agent premium collection ratio
- Premium collection trends
- Cash flow projection
